What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels that store or read identifiers in the browser.

  • First-party storage is set by our domain
  • Third-party storage may be set by another domain (for example when an embedded map loads)
  • Session items usually expire when the browser closes; persistent items last until they expire or you delete them

On this site we primarily use localStorage to remember your cookie preference. That is not a classic HTTP cookie file, but it serves a similar purpose and is covered here for honesty and clarity.

How we use cookies on this site

Today, our own use is deliberately minimal:

  • We show a cookie banner with two clear choices: Accept all and Essential only
  • We store your choice in the browser under the localStorage key ns_cookie_pref, with values such as accept-all or essential
  • That preference lets us avoid repeatedly asking you and gates any future non-essential tools that require consent
  • We do not currently use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising networks, or similar marketing trackers on this site

If we add analytics or similar tools later, they will run only with an appropriate legal basis (typically consent via the banner) and this policy will be updated before or when they go live.

  • Required to remember that you made a cookie choice and to operate core site functions
  • Includes storing ns_cookie_pref so the banner can stay dismissed according to your selection
  • These are used whether you choose “Essential only” or “Accept all”

Preferences

  • Used to honour interface or consent preferences you set on this site
  • Currently centred on the cookie preference key described above

Analytics

Not currently active. We do not load Google Analytics or equivalent measurement scripts today. If analytics are introduced, they will appear under this category and will require “Accept all” (or an equivalent consent path) before loading, unless a different lawful basis clearly applies and is disclosed here.

Your choices

You can control cookies and similar storage in several ways:

  • Site banner — choose Accept all or Essential only when the banner appears
  • Change later — clear this site’s cookies and localStorage (including ns_cookie_pref) in your browser; on the next visit the banner can appear again so you can choose afresh
  • Browser settings — block or delete cookies and site data globally or per site; note that blocking all storage may affect basic functions such as remembering your preference
  • Map embed — simply do not open the map modal if you prefer not to load third-party map content

Withdrawing or changing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the change.

Third-party cookies

When you open the atelier map modal, an iframe may load Google Maps (or a similar map provider). That provider may set its own cookies or use similar technologies under its own privacy and cookie policies. Those are third-party controls; we do not operate them.

  • The map is not loaded until you choose to open it
  • External “Open in Maps” links leave our site entirely
  • We do not embed social media widgets or ad networks on this site

Duration / session vs persistent

  • ns_cookie_pref (localStorage) — persistent until you clear site data or overwrite the value by choosing again after a reset
  • Session items — any temporary browser session data for page operation typically ends when you close the tab or browser
  • Third-party map cookies — duration is determined by the map provider, not by NORTH STAR MEDIA S.L.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 16. Cookie and storage practices follow the same age approach described in our Privacy Policy.
